Public Company Radio-Television of Republika Srpska
In 1993, the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska passed a resolution to establish the public company Srpska Radio-Televizija for the purpose of meeting the informational, cultural, educational, religious, and other needs of the Serb population of the Republika Srpska. Today, Radio-Television Republika Srpska (RTRS) is one of three equal broadcasters within the Public Broadcast Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina, primarily monitoring events in the Republika Srpska entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
RTRS comprises radio and television networks as well as an online media portal.
Radio Republika Srpska is a public radio service mandated to inform, educate, and entertain listeners while adhering to the legal provisions and regulations governing professional journalism. With 24-hour broadcasting of self-produced programming, the station’s FM network covers the territory of Republika Srpska, as well as parts of the Federation of BiH, Serbia, and Montenegro. Television Republika Srpska began operating in 1992. The first version of the RTRS website was released at the beginning of 2001 under the domain www.rtrs.tv and it still works on that domain.
RTRS is primarily financed through RTV fees and marketing. Additionally, it can generate income from its own activities and receive funding from the budget of Republika Srpska.
Recently, RTRS has faced criticism from the opposition, with claims that its programming is biassed in favour of the ruling SNSD party, often unfairly criticising the opposition.

Financial data for the RTRS public company is available in their business report, however the most recent of these reports was published in 2018. Amounts were converted into USD using the Central Bank's average exchange rate for December 29, 2018. The ownership data was obtained through a FOI request to the responsible municipal court in a hard copy in July 2023.
